Much of that can only be down to you my friend, and your influence in his life. Keep up the good work!<br />Southhamsdarlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12285980805569582676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3260474823266276024.post-63031859956462492922012-08-10T20:32:11.198-04:002012-08-10T20:32:11.198-04:00Thank you Diane, that was such a wonderful comment...Thank you Diane, that was such a wonderful comment. I feel such a kinship to you. I had a wonderful moment yesterday when Elliot asked me to write down a sentence that I had just spoken aloud. The sentence was "the loudest and angriest person is not always right." That he now owns one of my quotes made my whole day.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16456360103620523621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3260474823266276024.post-51390871783812934372012-08-10T15:43:25.918-04:002012-08-10T15:43:25.918-04:00Beautiful piece of writing my friend, and I felt f...Beautiful piece of writing my friend, and I felt for that little girl growing up in that environment. It certainly doesn't give you much confidence I wouldn't think, when you are always 'put down' by a parent, who always thinks that he is in the right. I wonder if they realize just how much damage they are doing, and how this can, in fact, affect the rest of your life. I'm know that you will make sure that Elliot will always be encouraged and given confidence so that he will feel that he can achieve anything he wants in life. I loved that little sentence about arguments holding us in bondage at the very end of this post. Like you, I really enjoy silence. I remember a long time ago, you telling me about your faith and that how sometimes you don't have to say anything at all. Sending hugs your way.Southhamsdarlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12285980805569582676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3260474823266276024.post-53459225136764320272012-08-10T06:18:37.733-04:002012-08-10T06:18:37.733-04:00Karen, great point! It was a rare experience and one that will stay with me forever.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16456360103620523621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3260474823266276024.post-60135297496066286562012-08-09T20:05:46.494-04:002012-08-09T20:05:46.494-04:00I feel you. It's not been until the last decade that I've been able to find my voice and give my own opinions. It's not always appreciated, but being able to speak up respectfully is important. And it's equally important to be a good, respectful listener. Not so important to agree. If there's respect, you both may learn a thing or two, and that's always a good thing.karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16313237142656662148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3260474823266276024.post-82124469156777175372012-08-09T10:27:24.267-04:002012-08-09T10:27:24.267-04:00Hi Shelly, thank you for the beautiful comment. Aside from helping me to work through some damaging issues, that they connect and build friendships must be the greater meaning. When you write, I fly all the way to Texas in my heart.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16456360103620523621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3260474823266276024.post-90429579314355072512012-08-09T08:59:31.834-04:002012-08-09T08:59:31.834-04:00Jenny, what a wise, eloquent, and transparent piec...Jenny, what a wise, eloquent, and transparent piece of beautiful writing. I've been pondering your words this morning and I am really struck by the dichotomy of language and words. What you said and how powerfully you shared it will be food for thought for me all day today. And that's another thing about words I love. They have the power to connect minds and hearts over many miles.Shellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04930262815304757150noreply@blogger.com
