Headlights

"Writing a book is like driving a car at night.  You only see as far as your headlights go, but you can make the whole trip that way." --E.L. Doctorow

I'm not writing a book, but this is what I try to remember when learning how to be in business or taking on any long term project (such as blogging!).

  1. I like that! I shall certainly try to remember it when I am thinking about my Blogs. Sometimes it comes easy, and sometimes I can't even think what I am going to write about tomorrow! But I shall focus on only seeing as far as the headlights go!

  6. I love that quote. I've used the headlight analogy to remind me to keep plugging away when things are muddled and hard. When it's cloudy and confusing and I'm not sure what to do. My husband likes to say when you're not sure what to do, "Just take the next step."
