Monday Mugs, Minimalist Shot

I'm still learning all the technical photography terms, so I'm not sure which of these would be considered minimalist.  The second calls to the minimalist me, the girl within. I used to imagine myself as a tiny person who could live in a doll house or in a fairy house in the woods.   The first one was taken by Emily, who is skilled at capturing Elliot in his naturally active and often silly expressions.

  1. I love the second shot, and that looks like a pretty good camera you have there. I have just bought a new one Canon IXUS 1000 HD, but I think I have probably made a mistake - and it certainly wasn't cheap!! Yes, I can carry it in my pocket, but I think I should probably have gone for one more like in that picture. Oh well, too late now!!

  2. I like the idea of being a tiny person and getting to live in a doll house or fairy house... think I would enjoy the fairy house in the woods better than a doll house. There was an old movie with the gnome mobile in it.. and it had gnomes and was out in the redwood forest.. I wanted to live there when I was little.. wish I could remember the name of the movie.

Love the picture of Elliot, he is so dang cute :)

  3. Cute pictures. Elliot looks like he has a fun personality. I really liked the second picture. Makes me want to grab a good book, a warm blanket and plop down in a bean bag chair to read.

  4. Thisisme, thanks for visiting today! My sixteen year old daughter has a really nice camera which I think she used in the first shot. The second one I took using my old hp photosmart which is sufficient but not great. I sometimes use little tricks with flash or editing fixes to make them presentable. Thank you for the compliment though!

  5. You are so awesome.. thanks to your comment on my post... it triggered something and it dawned on me how to find the movie about the gnomes that I have been wanting to see again http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061715/ I love the movies from this time even if they are most often way far from pc... they are from my childhood and comes with great memories. Thank you
